The latest installment of the series, “Wakako Sake Season 5,” will begin broadcasting on BS TV Tokyo from midnight on April 6th (Monday).
This work is a popular drama series in which Wakako Murasaki (26 years old), an office worker born with a ``drinking tongue'' played by the lead actress Rina Takeda, wanders various bars and enjoys drinking alone. Based on Chie Niikyu's ``Wakako Sake'' (currently serialized in Monthly Comic Zenon), which has sold over 2.4 million copies (paper and electronic total/13 volumes published), this is the fifth work in the drama series.
Of course, familiar members will also appear, including the general (Yoshihiro Nozoe) and the clerk Aoyagi (Kenta Kamakari) from Wakako's favorite shop, ``Oraku.''
This season, one of the 12 episodes will be aired for the first time in a live-action version of ``Public Bar Wakao Wakako Sake Betsuten,'' which is currently being serialized as a spin-off of the original comic ``Wakako Sake.'' Wakako Murasaki is visiting Shimoto's chef Wakao's restaurant "Taishizakaba Wakao"!?
The happiness of eating and drinking, and the happiness of making food and having it eaten...This is a new kind of episode written from both perspectives.

I'm so happy that it lasted until season 5! Through the seasons so far, my awareness of food and alcohol has changed, and I've started to pay more attention to the care and commitment of the creators that go into delicious food.
The filming of a drama is similar to the process of making delicious food, and each staff member takes great care in filming, so I hope that that part can be conveyed to the people who watch it.
During the filming, we not only worked together, but sometimes we had conflicting opinions, but I think that the sense of security on set where we can boldly express our opinions and the strength of our unity is due to the accumulation of previous seasons, so this time I really feel overwhelmed with emotion after finishing the work.
I learned a lot from the wonderful guests, and it really hit home. I am confident that our Wakako sake is now even better than before!

I have been in charge of the producer since the previous work, but this time I was present at the location shooting of all the stores. I got the impression that I ate a lot especially since the photo shoot was in autumn when I had a good appetite. It's like a food fight! It's appare. The bite was so big that I was excited and thought, "Are you going to take that?"
And Wakako is still 26 years old, but I think she has become a little older. The key visual also has a night atmosphere for the first time. There will be special guests, mini trips, and lots of content. Please enjoy the adult Wakako with a drink in hand this season.
