It has been decided that a new feature-length animation based on the original work by Tsukasa Hojo, ``City Hunter,'' will be released in early spring 2019.

It has been decided that the original cast members from the TV anime will continue to play the roles of Akira Kamiya as Ryo Saeba and Kazue Ikura as Kazue Makimura. Sunrise will continue to be in charge of animation production, with Kenji Kodama, who directed the TV anime and the past movie version of ``City Hunter'', as the general director, and Yoichi Kato, who was the series composer and scriptwriter for ``Yo-kai Watch'', to write the script. This will be my first time participating in the project. The story is a completely new story set in present-day Shinjuku in which Ryo and Kaori play an active role. The first visual was newly drawn for this work by the original author, Tsukasa Hojo. The visuals suggest that Ryo and Kaori, who look the same as they did back then, will be active in Shinjuku today.
