"Wakako-zake" enters its 10th season this winter! The series' first overseas location shoot takes place in Gold Coast, Australia, bringing you the joys of "drinking alone as a woman"! In addition, the Wakako-zake Festival will be held at Kinshi Park in October!

BS TV Tokyo will begin broadcasting "Wakako Sake Season 10" in January 2027. This is the 10th installment of the popular gourmet drama series starring Rina Takeda, where the characters enjoy drinking alcohol with their catchphrase, "Pshuuu!" It depicts the life of Wakako Murasaki (26 years old), an office worker born with a "drinker's palate," as she wanders through various bars and enjoys drinking alone. The series is based on Chie Shinkyu's "Wakako Sake" (Monthly Comic Zenon/Coamix), which is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year and has sold over 3.5 million copies (print and digital combined/27 volumes published). Since its broadcast began in 2015, this series has resonated with many viewers as a secret late-night pastime. Thanks to everyone's warm support, the broadcast of the momentous Season 10 has finally been decided!
In Season 10, the familiar charm of Wakako remains intact, as she thoroughly enjoys delicious sake and food from all over Japan, from casually dropping into izakayas to hidden gem restaurants.

The series' first overseas location shoot takes place in Gold Coast, Australia! A blissful "Pshuuu!" at a beach resort!

Furthermore, for the first two nights of this momentous 10th installment, we undertook the series' first-ever overseas location shoot!
The setting for this special overseas shoot is the Gold Coast, one of Australia's leading beach resorts and a world-class destination. With the full cooperation of Tourism Australia, Tourism Queensland, Tourism Gold Coast, and Qantas Airways, Wakako will take off for a trip to a foreign land of magnificent nature and beautiful beaches!
Of course, even across the ocean, Wakako's unwavering stance of "loving delicious sake and snacks" remains unchanged. We will deliver the blissful "Pshuu" that transcends borders with exquisite gourmet food and local drinks unique to the liberating Gold Coast. The new series of the drama "Wakako Sake," a source of pride for BS TV Tokyo, will start airing in January 2027! In addition, it has been decided that it will be exclusively streamed for one week in advance on NTT Docomo's video streaming service "Lemino". Stay tuned!

Wakako Murasaki: Rina Takeda

Our long-held goal of Season 10 is finally coming true!
This is all thanks to everyone who has loved Wakako-zake and eagerly awaited its return. All the cast and staff who have worked together to create this drama, the restaurants that cooperated with us during filming, the delicious sake and snacks—everyone's love has been poured into this drama, bringing us this far. Thank you so much!
Wakako has now become an integral part of my mind and body.
I love the characters and world created by Chie Shinkyu, so I want to approach the filming of this new season with the same enthusiasm as when I started. I'm also looking forward to the overseas location shoot, which I've always wanted to do, and I'm excited to see what kind of encounters await me.

Chie Shinkyu
I'm really looking forward to it, as I've heard there will be some wonderful developments befitting this milestone 10th installment.
Just as the same dish can taste different depending on your mood and the drinks you pair it with, the drama "Wakako-zake" offers a fresh and enjoyable experience every time you watch it. I can't wait to see Wakako and the familiar characters again as we approach our 10th week!
Of course, I'm already ready with a delicious drink in hand.

Loved by many, the drama "Wakako-zake" has reached its 10th season. This time, the cast and crew have fulfilled their long-held dream of filming overseas, with Wakako enjoying a solo drink on the Gold Coast in Australia. Domestically, the lineup includes a truly authentic pub, the usual Chinese restaurants, beer halls, and other familiar establishments—a lineup befitting Season 10.
Wakako's stance remains the same whether she's at her favorite bar or in the resort town of the Gold Coast. She can open doors to unfamiliar places and new establishments on her own. Her love for alcohol and her proactive spirit always inspire me.
Furthermore, Rina Takeda's portrayal of Wakako, with her enthusiastic eating and drinking, is always superb, greatly enhancing the convincing portrayal of deliciousness and making me hungry just watching. I myself am very much looking forward to seeing Takeda-san as Wakako again in this series.
I believe Season 10 will be packed with all the charm that the cast and staff have built up throughout the series, so please look forward to it with an empty stomach!

Introduction

Another day of happy drinking alone.
Wakako Murasaki is a 26-year-old who loves alcohol and food more than anything. She's a drinker who bravely steps into even the most obscure bars she stumbles upon. Wakako enjoys drinking alone in bars, reflecting on events at work or listening to the conversations of other customers. This remains true no matter the bar, even across the ocean. Sometimes she uses the magnificent Australian scenery as her drinking companion; sometimes she savors food and drinks surrounded by the pleasant hustle and bustle of a traditional, old-school bar; and sometimes she leisurely enjoys a drink at her favorite spot—all while being gently watched over by her friends, colleagues, and the owner of her favorite bar, "Aira." The moment the alcohol and food perfectly complement each other, a sigh of pure bliss escapes her lips as she is enveloped in exhilaration. For Wakako, it's a moment of pure bliss.
