Seven students from the Manga Department of Takamori High School, which Coremix is working on in cooperation with the Kumamoto Prefectural Board of Education and local governments, won prizes at the 49th Kumamoto Prefectural High School Art Exhibition (hosted by the Prefectural High School Cultural Federation Art Department and the Prefectural High School Education Research Association Art and Crafts Department). One student won the Grand Prize, four won the Excellence Prize, one won the Merit Prize, and one won an Honorable Mention.
The exhibition featured 212 works created in class or as part of club activities by high school students from 38 schools in the prefecture across five categories: painting, design, sculpture, crafts, and video. Of the 54 selected works, 27 were selected to represent the prefecture at the national competition, this year's Kyushu competition, and next year's Kyushu competition, with five of these works being created by students from the school's Manga Department.
The work of Sakurasuke Araki, a second-year student in the Manga Department at the school, who won the top prize in the Sculpture/3D category, is scheduled to be exhibited at the National High School Cultural Festival to be held in Kagawa Prefecture next summer.
