「八幡馬」とは、どんなものなのでしょうか？

八幡馬は、青森の八戸に伝わる伝統工芸品です。起源は所説あり、その１つが八幡馬の元になった木彫りの馬を元祖とするもので、八戸市の観光情報サイトでは「約700年の歴史をもつ」と書かれています。

このグッズを作った株式会社八幡馬の公式サイトによると、すでに明治の初期には作られていたそうです。南部地方でもっとも社格が高い「一の宮」である「櫛引八幡宮（くしひきはちまんぐう）」で年に一度の例祭があり、そこで八幡馬が売られていました。その作り方が農民に伝わり、農閑期の副業として広まったのだとか。

八幡馬はお祝いや記念品としての需要のほか、台車に乗せて紐で引く、“子供用のおもちゃ”としても使われていました。代表的な色は黒（鹿毛）、赤（栗毛）、白（葦毛）の３色。今回の「黒王号」は、黒を基調として作られています。

そしてもう一つは、伝統工芸「だるまこけし」になったハート様！

この「別注ハートだるま」は、宮城県の伝統工芸品「宮城伝統こけし」の技が使われています。

ちなみに、こけしの歴史は古く、現在のこけしの形が完成したのは約283年前と言われています。松田工房が作るのは、その宮城伝統こけしの１つである「鳴子こけし」です。
